Master of Legal Studies

The Master of Legal Studies program provides a foundational understanding of the law to professionals outside the judicial system. Graduates are equipped with an awareness of how the law shapes professional fields such as finance, insurance, marketing, and human resources. This course of study may be taken concurrently with the Juris Doctor program.

What Our School of Law Programs Offer

At Empire College School of Law, we believe the value of a legal education extends further than a career as an attorney. Our high-quality Juris Doctor and Master of Legal Studies programs provide students with the critical thinking, self-discipline, and professional polish necessary to succeed in any endeavor they choose to pursue.

Exceptional Benefits

In addition, students in our Juris Doctor program are awarded tremendous networking advantages in the Northern California area. Empire College School of Law graduates make up approximately 25 percent of the Sonoma County Bar Association and hold judicial positions in Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake, Lassen, Calaveras, and Merced County. The close-knit relationships our students share with these professionals significantly enhance their performance on the bar exam, as well as their opportunities for employment.

Proven Success

Approximately 76 percent of Empire School of Law graduates who have taken the California Bar Exam since the school’s founding in 1973 have passed. Empire’s moot court teams have consistently performed at a high level in statewide competitions, showcasing both brief writing and oral argument skills developed during their law studies.

Alicia Cronbach, Esq.

(Class of 2006)
One of the advantages of Empire as a night vs. traditional law school is the real-life experience that most students have between college and law school. Being a second-career lawyer, you bring a lot more value to the table and to a prospective employer than you may appreciate.

Jacqueline Rosario, Esq

(Class of 2014)
I wanted to be an attorney because I wanted to make a difference in this world, and I feel that I am doing that. It is very rewarding, and I am blessed to be living my dream. I recommend to everybody considering law school that if you want to do this and have the will to do it, do it.

Chris Van Nuys

Operations Manager, LEMO USA, Inc. (Class of 2019)
Empire Law School provided the instruction, guidance, and motivation that I needed to pass the California State Bar Examination on the first try, despite the rigors of managing a full-time career and family commitments in parallel. I would absolutely recommend Empire Law School to anyone looking for relevant and masterful instruction in the subjects of law.
