Who Hires Empire Grads?

People choose to study law for many different reasons. Some students require legal education to complement and facilitate an intersection of their chosen career paths with government or policy, for which Empire College School of Law’s Master of Legal Studies program provides an excellent opportunity. Some view themselves as trial attorneys persuading a jury to find in favor of their client. Others believe the legal system is the most effective way to address society’s problems. Regardless of the career path our Empire graduates pursue, the discipline and critical thinking skills learned while studying law will assist them in their future endeavors.

Empire College School of Law provides more than an intellectual exploration of the law. We also provide hands-on, meaningful training in practical lawyering through volunteer work in law clinics and clinical education employment. Every year, students have the opportunity to build their reputation with the legal community and gain experience in the state and Federal court systems as law clerks and certified law students. The benefit of this opportunity is twofold: students gain valuable experience in the legal field before graduation and the public receives free services that lessen the burden on taxpayers and alleviate critical needs in the community.

Empire College School of Law alumni comprise over 25 percent of the members of the Sonoma County Bar and include 14 judicial officers in California and Arizona. Alumni concentrate their legal practices in a variety of areas including public service law, family law, wills and trusts, business transactional law, real estate, bankruptcy, and more.
